Rifle Classes

Patrol Marksman

The Cornerstone Performance Patrol Marksman course is a 2 day course designed to help
officers fill the capability gap that exists between a patrol officer and a SWAT sniper.

We’ll learn to exploit the capability of a patrol rifle equipped with an LPVO (or other magnified optic) using real world barricade support positions on full and partial targets from 35-300 yards.

We’ll cover:

  • Equipment selection and setup
  • Patrol optimized zeroing
  • Overall potential cone of fire.  What it is and why it matters.
  • Barricade support positions.  How to build a stable and durable positionquickly.
  • Real world, practical range estimation exercises.
  • Holdovers.  Knowing EXACTLY where your round will land from 50-300 yards.
  • Live fire application on uknown distance full and high risk partial targets from 75-300 yards with first round hits from real world positions.

Student Requirements:

  • AR15 with a magnified optic (LPVO, ACOG style optic, or RDS and magnifier are all acceptable)
  • 500 rounds of reliable ammunition.  Bring duty rounds or practice ammo that is substantially similar to your duty round (example–they’re both 75grain rounds with similar velocity).
  • 3 magazines and a sling
  • Clothing and water / snacks suitable for a day on the range
  • Eye and hearing protection
  • Strongly suggested for zeroing but not required–Shooting mat, bipod, rear bag.  At a minimum bring a backpack you can use as a rest.
  • Kneepads are strongly recommended.

City Block Rifle

City Block Rifle is an advanced rifle course focused on building the skills necessary for a patrol officer or responsible citizen to dominate everything within 100 yards (one city block).

The first half of the day will be focused on aggressive shooting on paper inside 50 yards. There will be a deep dive into rifle setup, building proper contact with the rifle, and vision.  We’ll work extensively on predictive and reactive shooting, learning the difference and how to utilize these tools to maximize your training time.

The second half of the day will start with a discussion on proper rifle zeroing and fine tuning your zero for small, high risk targets beyond normal engagement distances.  The shooting will all be focused on using real world barricade support positions to aggressively engage high risk and partial targets from 65-100 yards, entirely on steel.

Round Count: 500 Rounds
